Welcome to Kennel 3 Blog

Wirral Fox Rescue is the only dedicated Fox Rescue and Rehabilitation charity based in Wirral. Our Rehabilitation Centre is located in Hoylake, and we aim to help sick and injured foxes in Wirral and the surrounding area.

Thank you

Thank you for sponsoring “Kennel 3” in our Centre. This Kennel had an especially busy 2025, providing a safe and warm refuge for lots of foxes. It was rarely empty!

The Kennel 3 foxes would like to say a huge “Thank You” to the following sponsors:

  • Jane Pickstock (Richard’s Mum)
  • Prenton Primary School
  • Carole Parker
  • Lottie & AJ
  • Kathryn Hart

Victoria

Victoria came to us orphaned earlier in the year.  She’s now part of a group of 5 juveniles in our woodland enclosure.  They are all doing amazing and in top shape.  Here’s Victoria when she came into the hospital, and pictures of her today from release enclosure. They are all in the last stage of rehab with us before they graduate and become wild foxes again.

Vincent

Vince was reported to us moving around the garden and dragging his legs behind him.  Though this is almost always a bad sign, and some foxes in this condition are beyond saving, we are not in the habit of making a call before a thorough examination.  He has a c4 spinal injury and we decided to take a chance with him given our success with Mabel and Agnes. It was the right call, he’s doing really well now, standing and walking and improving gradually. Soon we’ll move him outside and he’ll start the next stage of his journey with us

Keep it up Vince!

Bernard

Bernard was found in a small container used by goat. Thankfully, someone noticed him, blocked him in and called us. He had been suffering with mange for some time, and given that he was alarmingly underweight, Bernard was a juvenile in serious need of intervention if he was going to survive.  We’ve cleared the mange and he’s making the most of his comfy beds here. He is now full of a wild spirit, and it won’t be long at all before hes up to an acceptable weight, and we can look at taking him home to begin his life again free from burden.

Every animal brought into rescue, brings its own needs and vet bills – and we will only be able to help them all, with your help.
