Welcome to Kennel 1 Blog

Wirral Fox Rescue is the only dedicated Fox Rescue and Rehabilitation charity based in Wirral. Our Rehabilitation Centre is located in Hoylake, and we aim to help sick and injured foxes in Wirral and the surrounding area.

Thank you

Thank you for sponsoring “Kennel 1” in our Centre. This Kennel had an especially busy 2025, providing a safe and warm refuge for lots of foxes. It was rarely empty!

The Kennel 1 foxes would like to say a huge “Thank You” to the following sponsors:

  • Irene Jones
  • Jackie Spence
  • Nin & Matty
  • “Paw Patrol” @ Stenaline
  • Mrs Sammy Panesar
  • Jacob Pleavin-Lea
  • Jessie Phelps
  • The Bowden Family
  • David & Denise Sharp
  • Sally Cross
Polly

Polly had a severe case of mange (a nasty parasitic mite) and was feeling very sorry for herself when we trapped her. A spell in the fox hospital, with mange medication and antibiotics and dedicated care, meant that she was released back home after about 6 weeks.

Newt

Newt was a Spring 2025 cub. She came to us in July during the very hot weather. Newt was struggling to keep herself upright which gave the impression of a physical injury.

It turned out that she was probably just exhausted and dehydrated so she was back out again in no time.

Every animal brought into rescue, brings its own needs and vet bills – and we will only be able to help them all, with your help.
